Two more days and we leave! I have piles of stuff all over the house and a "to do" list that is very, very long. It will all come together by 5:30 a.m. on Thursday (it better!)
Thank you to everyone who has made this adoption possible. It really does take a village. Many, many people purchased items from us, made donations, prayed, and gave us hugs in the past year. It is truly humbling to be the recipient of this generosity. YuLan is one lucky girl!
I will be posting to this blog throughout our time in China. I purchased a memory card reader and hope to download photos (if I can figure it out--I have lots of time to read the instructions on the plane).

It is 9:30 p.m. Midway time. I suppose you will be in China in 3 more hours give or take. I am so excited for you all and can't wait to hear all about the trip and meet Yulan!!

During Church this morning and this afternoon, we have been and are so excited for you, Kathy and Leah, knowing that you are right now having your last sleep (albeit contemplative and probably intermittent) before you begin one of the most fabulous, momentous, and hugely serendipitous days of your lives. Your first day with Yulan is set to unfold in just hours--indeed minutes now. We can feel your anticipation and happiness from half the world away! Our thoughts, prayers, and smiles are with you. Okay, I know that I said no pressure to report back to us, but I lied. It is 7:00 p.m. on our Sunday and we figure it is about 10 a.m. in China. . . . so, do you have your girls with you???? We have been calculating the time in China all day. . . while Mary, Tom, Ron and I were in Burlington. Now we are having a shrimp boil at Mary's. I must admit, we are persevering on!! But we ARE on pins and needles for news. I hope for a happy meeting and a lifetime of happiness for all 3 of you! I know it will be.

To all who may be following the comments and blog. . . . we have had e-mail communication from Kathy and the adoption is complete. They are just waiting on the passport and travel documents to be completed. Yulan is doing well and fitting right in! Kathy will be posting something on Friday. If you are like me. . . I have been constantly monitoring this website for news.
For those who may be checking. . . Kathy has e-mailed that the blog is a bust. Apparently she has not been able to post. Their trip seems to have gone quite well, however, I think they are ready to get home and get back into their routines. Yulan is adjusting and according to Kathy. . . .she is smart and quite a character. Kathy will be back in the States and able to update all very soon.
